Transportation Coordinator
Responsibilities:
Transport Coordinator reports directly to the Logistics Supervisor and carries out day to day administrative tasks in support of the Transportation Team. This individual needs to be organized, deadline oriented, and exhibit excellent team-players skills.
- Documents and communicates all service-related issues.
- Develops a sense of trust and integrity with the customer.
- Acquires pricing for loads and ensures hired carriers deliver according to agreed upon requirements.
- Seeks appropriate guidance from leadership on matters that could negatively impact the company.
- Plans loads for driver pick up and drop offs based on availability, preferences keeping in mind driver hour requirements.
- Provide pickup and delivery documents for drivers.
- Works closely with customer service and warehouse departments to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Track drivers for efficient and timely delivery schedules.
- Provide rate quotes for brokered loads, track/track loads.
- Issue PO’s to vendors in QuickBooks.
- Respond to incoming emails and phone calls.
- Maintain proper attendance and punctuality.
- Assist with maintaining the shipping schedule.
- Assist with managing rental equipment.
- Assists to ensure drivers and equipment are performing as necessary to provide on-time service.
