{"id":1622,"date":"2022-03-21T21:24:51","date_gmt":"2022-03-21T21:24:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ziglift.com\/blog\/?p=1622"},"modified":"2022-11-10T00:44:43","modified_gmt":"2022-11-10T00:44:43","slug":"how-to-measure-pallet-racking-guide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ziglift.com\/blog\/how-to-measure-pallet-racking-guide\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Measure Pallet Racking Guide"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We created this guide on how to measure pallet racking to help the average warehouse operator to understand what to measure and how to identify the parts of a system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2>Uprights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3>Uprights are the primary, vertical components of any selective racking system.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Some may also call them frames, but &#8216;upright&#8217; is the standard industry term. Uprights carry all the weight of your product to the floor. Their anchoring to the floor ensures stability. The height is key to maximizing your storage volume while assuring you are not oversized for you ceilings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The depth of the upright (front to back) is important because it affects how pallets will fit and be supported. An upright has two posts (or columns) connected by cross braces. Its mode of deflection is primarily by bending. Measurements are associated with the uprights they&#8217;re well matched with. A wire deck is produced from wire mesh welded to channels.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Measuring Decks<\/strong><br>An example of a wire deck specs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>42\u201d x 46\u201d, 3 channel, waterfall<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>OR <\/strong>depth of upright that deck is compatible with x width of deck in direction of beam, number and type of channels, and type of front and back edge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Depth \u2013 it is the same as the depth of the upright the deck is being used with.
